The Tourism Bureau held a party to celebrate the third birthday of OhBear, a tourism goodwill ambassador for Taiwan, at Taipei Zoo on Saturday, drawing a crowd of zoo visitors to participate in a slew of activities.
OhBear dressed himself in a futuristic outfit, including cool goggles and IC clothing, to reflect the approach of smart tourism and mobile applications the bureau has undertaken.
To enable visitors to engage in in-depth tours of Taiwan and to extend the i-center system, the tourism bureau said it had put great effort into promoting Taiwan Pass and making Taiwan a great smart tourism country.
Taiwan Pass is an electronic ticket loaded with tourism resources planned and recommended by the local governments nationwide, offering “time and location” specific discounts for various modes of travel carriers and destination tickets.
During the birthday celebration, the tourism bureau invited supermodel Wang Liya to present OhBear with a special birthday gift and the girl group, MerMer Girls, to perform singing and dancing.
Toward the end of the celebration, OhBear led a Cosplay parade that started from the square near the entrance gate to where black bears were kept in the Formosan Animal Area. OhBear actively interacted with zoo visitors during the parade, which carried the theme of loving and protecting animals.
